Composed and performed by Bettina Joy de Guzman using traditional instruments and replica ancient lyre, three-string lute, and aulos. Songs in epic meter follow tonal pitch marks throughout. Like Homer’s tale, it begins by invoking the Muse in Iliad Book 1 and ends with Athena ceasing conflict in Odyssey Book 24. Helen, the Sirens, and many more sing their own words to rhythmic modes evoking the ancient Mediterranean world.
